Visual Studio 2015
On July 29, Microsoft will officially release Windows 10, but nine days beforehand, on July 20, the company will launch the final version of its Visual Studio 2015 software development tools. Microsoft will also make Team Foundation Server 2015 and .NET 4.6 available for download on July 20.
In a blog post, Microsoft's S.Somasegar stated:
"Visual Studio 2015 is a big release. We are opening up Visual Studio to developers targeting new platforms – from cross-platform mobile development targeting iOS, Android and Windows, to game development targeting Unity, Unreal, Cocos and more. At the same time, Visual Studio 2015 redefines developer productivity with proactive diagnostics tooling and the new Rolsyn language services for C# and VB. And together, Visual Studio 2015, Team Foundation Server 2015 and Visual Studio Online help teams to embrace DevOps with great agile backlog management, Azure, cloud tooling, hosted continuous integration, and Application Insights across all the components of your application."
Microsoft will host an online launch event for Visual Studio 2015 on July 20 starting at 8:30 a.m. Pacific time (11:30 a.m. Eastern time) with live Q&A sessions with members of the Visual Studio team. There will be three versions of the tools released; the free Visual Studio Community SKU, the $1,199 Visual Studio Professional 2015 with MSDN, and the $5,999 Visual Studio Enterprise 2015 with MSDN.
